By far the best wireless mic setup for the money.

Just received our second 787 unit. This one is for a gift. The first one purchased last September has gotten quite a lot of use and never fails to do its job to everyone's satisfaction. That unit came through Amazon and included four hand held mics. Looking for lapel and headset mics to expand its usefulness, we discovered that the accessories are available from GDT but not Amazon. We also discovered that GTD does not charge shipping for the 787 set and Amazon does. We purchased a total of four body pack transmitters in November along with other accessories and have been very pleased that we can outfit four speakers when they prefer a headset rather than a hand-held mic to make their presentations in meetings of all sorts. We were disappointed with the lapel mics that come with the body pack but the headsets give fine sound. The new set that came today has lapel mics of considerably better sound quality and I think they will be useful. Did you get that the body packs come with both headset and lapel mics?! Our year old unit gets much use because of its convenience as well as its quality. My wife sings solo and sometimes with groups and is fussy about sound quality. She has several defunct upper end Sennheiser mics that she thinks were a bit better than her GTDs but the Sennheisers are not working and very costly to repair. At $36 each for GTD mics that are nearly as satisfactory are a part of her road kit and will likely remain a part of it. I, with my aging ears, cannot find a difference and I think most folks couldn't either. She runs the mic signals through a good Mackie mixer and out 350 Mackie speakers that will fill a fairly large auditorium. The new set will be used in a church without an independent mixer unless the church decides it wants one and will serve a Alto Professional Trouper 200W Bi-Amplified Bluetooth PA System with 3-Channel Mixer. That unit produces a fine sound with enough volume to satisfy any needs by a small church. Crime being a problem in this society we have built, and churches being targets for burglars, there is quite an advantage to a sound system that pastor can take home with him after services and set up again in a couple of minutes. This mic unit is portable, easily upgraded by adding body pack mics or handheld mics. We have yet to damage a mic by dropping it or by handing it to someone who finds a way to abuse it, but replacement is $36 should that be necessary. Overall, this system is probably the best for the money on the market today. For a little over $500 we have assembled a sound system equal to systems much more costly featuring quality microphones resistant to damage in inexperienced hands. Can you tell I like this system?
